Loorenkopf- Fantastic lake and mountain view close to Zurich

When the weather is nice, many are drawn outside. But where to go? Zurich has a number of excursion destinations to offer and the decision is not an easy one. After a long time we decided to take the children on an excursion into the forest. Personally I find walks in the forest very relaxing, the forest has a calming effect for me. The children did not really like a walk alone, so the reward was a tower with a wonderful view of Lake Zurich, Lake Greifen and the Central and Bernese Alps.

With the car we drove to the parking place at the Katzenschwanzstrasse. From there you can reach the Loorenkopf in about 15 minutes on foot. The wooden tower was inaugurated on August 18, 1954 and is about 33 meters high. To reach the top platform you have to climb 152 steps. The ascent is always worthwhile, because the fantastic view is reward enough. There are benches on the platform that invite you to relax and enjoy the panorama. Directly next to the tower there is a fireplace which offers a covered dining area.

Our drone was also onboard. We let it go and captured some great pictures. Click here for the video.

As soon as the temperatures are a little warmer, we will visit the Loorenkopf again. Around the Adlisberg there are many hiking trails to discover. From Zurich Zoo, a hiking trail leads to the Elefantenbach, which invites you to cool off. Especially the children are happy about the concrete elephant in the creek from whose trunk water flows. Don’t forget your swimming trunks!

Do you have any advice where I should go? Then please leave a comment.
